A Year with A-Fash

DIY A-Fash Fringe Top, DIY Ombre Shorts - Thrifted, Boots - Thrifted

A-Fash just turned a year old last June 2013 and as our way of celebration, we had a little get-together at Sir Lancelot Café. Of course, we had our outfit and group shots taken before anything else. #BloggerDuties Haha! We spent the rest of the afternoon filling our tummies with delish foods and sharing some of our personal blogger stories and experiences. We also had games which everyone enjoyed, plus I learned loads of stuff from Jamie’s talk about blogging. It was a really great way to be acquainted with everybody beyond the usual Wednesday shoots and I do hope this won’t be the last! :)

Oh I missed having group shots with A-Fash! I’m really glad I joined this week’s shoot after a really long time of being MIA. Hihi :”> This one’s my favorite so far. We’re an ever-increasing family! Speaking of which, we’ve announced some important changes regarding our recruitment process on our Facebook page. If you don’t know about it yet, you can read more about the details here.

It has really been a wonderful year with A-Fash and I do hope we’d have more fashionable years to come! *u*

P.S. Sorry if this post’s more than a half year late, but it’s better late than never right? ;) I think I’d be blogging a couple of “throwback” outfit posts for now. Hihi

Feeling like a Hipster

Holla sweethearts! :-) Who's excited for summer? Me!! Oh I can't wait to hit the beach and get some tan! And although I actually consider today as my last day of vacation (Yes I'll be attending summer classes and it will start in four days!), I won't let anything stop me from having fun under the sun! Okay someone please stop me before I go on rambling about how I want my summer to be like. Lol

In a few days I'll be back to school papers and accounting problems so I might as well post something while I still can. I spent my short vacation reading some books and making up for lost time with family and friends, that's why it took me this long to create a new post. Actually, the long list of outfit posts I have yet to blog are increasing in the same rate as the list of books I have to read and I still don't know what to do with that. Ugh, time. The worst enemy a person could ever have! But anyway, I'll find ways. Haha!

Dress - Next, Checkered button-down & Fringe boots - Thrifted

A-Fash had the hipster theme two weeks before our Finals as far as I can remember, which is perfect because: 1) Hipsters are fond of layering pieces that don't seem to match which gave me an excuse to not put much thought to my outfit and 2) They tend to wear flats such as boots, combat boots, Converse, etc. thus I can still move from place to place without sacrificing style.
Ooh I can get used to being a hipster! Hee *u*

I love how boots like this can instantly glam up an outfit. Perfect for lazy days!

Lovely Laces

image

Finally~~~ After asdfghjkl years, I'm back to blogging! I sincerely apologize for not being a responsible blogger these past few weeks which is either because my acad life is consuming all my energy or I am way too lazy to do anything. Mehehe. But anyway, enough of the rants.
Here's a special Wednesday photoshoot with A-Fash way back November (I'm super late I know! Lol) with the theme laces. It was special because we had some members of the Oragon Photographers Association as our photographers. How cool is that? *u*

image

I was a bit surprised when I went to the shoot location because I was only expecting Mr. Xeres Gagero to photograph us. But then, there were two more! Good thing I was prepared! Hihi.

So far, this is one of the easiest themes of A-Fash for me. Not to mention one of my favorites! If you'll dig in my closet, you'll actually find more than a couple of my clothes with laces on it. I am telling you, I am in love with laces! Haha!

And ohhh, A-Fash's now increasing in numbers! Don't forget to like our Facebook page here

I hope you are all having a nice start of February--the love month, as what they say. But whether or not you have someone special to celebrate it with, just remember that love comes in all forms and that we must always spread love in any way possible. Charot! Hahaha!

Love always,

A Day in Polka

Good evening lovies! I am taking a break from studying and at the same time taking advantage of these few free hours to make a new blog post. I actually still have two late outfit posts but since exams are already next week, yes, I think it will be another week late.
Anyway, I proceed with my outfit details.

image
/Omg my height :( Hahaha

If you have been following A-Fash's page on Facebook, you'll already know what our theme for the week was: Polka! If you aren't, well what are you waiting for? Like our page now here. Hihi. :">

image

This mullet skirt was originally a maxi skirt which I used for my summer-themed 18th birthday party. But thanks to my mom, it had its instant makeover! Hihi. And oh, I thank God too for giving me a mother who knows how to sew! *u*

Floral top, Heels & Bag -Thrifted | DIY Mullet Skirt - LCC Mall | Belt (borrowed from a friend) - Candie's

image

Changed from a neon belt to this white one to keep the light colors of the whole ensemble (and to reduce the number of stares lol). Thank you so much to my girl friend Kim for letting me borrow her belt! :) Hi bebegirl if you're reading this! Haha! :D

image

image

Yes, I received a bunch of rude stares that day maybe because I am a bit overdressed for school. I also got compliments from friends which of course what matters more than the negativity. At the end of the day, optimism is the key to a wonderful life, right? In other words, Keep Calm and Keri Lang! Hihi. :D

One With the Earth

image

image

A-Fash's theme for the first week of December was earth tones-anything in hues of brown and green. As for me, this is the most challenging theme we had yet since I am not that fond of the color brown unless it's combined with pink. Nor am I a fan of green, unless it's bright and neon.

image

Wearing shades of brown makes me feel like I'm 10 years older, which is really far from reality. People always say that I'm the silent and demure type of girl and that I act like a lady most of the time. But to tell you the truth, I do prefer being immature and crazy sometimes than acting like a grown-up. Especially if I'm at home! Mehehe. :D

image

Top (my sister's), Skorts, Belt, Bag (mom's) & Finsk wedges - Thrifted | Brown and green charm bracelets (mom's) & necklace, random stores
Oh yes, I'm wearing a top-to-toe thrifted outfit! How cool is that? :)

image

image

As what I always say, I'm not that much into accessories. Too much weight on my arm makes me uncomfortable. That's why I make sure that I wear outfits that are striking enough even without accessories so I always have an excuse. Hihi.

image

I am loving these finsk wedges which I bought from a thrift store in Naga. It adds more spice to my whole ensemble, don't you think?
Watch out for next week's theme: Sparkles! :D

We Bring the Boys Out

Finally, a new blog post! I've been really busy lately due to some stuff like watching Meteor Garden again (I'm weird, I know lol) and daydreaming. Yes I've been very productive indeed! Hahaha.
Anyway, here's another photoshoot with A-Fash! :"> It was our second time to have a theme. The first one was Bohemian but I wasn't around and this week, it was Vintage.
From L-R: Me, Lhea, Ching, Jamie, Annika, Danica, Didi & Joyce, Abby
image

I'm not sure if my outfit gave justice to our theme but I guess it was perfect because I've been dying to wear this for weeks yet haven't found the right occasion to. :D

image
/awkward smile lol

What do you think of my outfit? I actually got a lot of funny comments with this one. A classmate told me that my blouse's really cute and I look like a Sto. Niño. And I was like, "Thanks. But, is that an insult or what?" Hahaha. Another friend teased me about having a dance performance while there was also one who told me I look like I'm attending a first holy communion. Lol. Annnndd, my very own dad said I look like I'm still in grade school! Wow thanks Dad for being so supportive! Hahaha. But rather than being offended, these comments really made me laugh hard! :))

image
Blouse & Lace skirt - thrifted, Belt - SM accessories, Ring - mom's
image
I'll tell you a little secret: This lovely satchel bag only costs me (or rather, my mom :D) 180 pesos! A lot of thanks to whoever invented thrift shops! *u*

image
Another thing which caught people's attention - my oxfords + colorful socks combination. Because I was a bit late for the shoot, I had to walk alone to where they are and I swear the whole time I thought people were laughing secretly at me. Haha. I'm such a paranoid! And oh, I wore a pair of flats the whole day and only changed into these in time for the shoot. :)

Hey, have you heard the song The Boys by Girl's Generation? I know it's old but it always make me want to dance every time I hear it nevertheless. Just saying :D I'm actually listening to it right now and yes that's where I got this blog post's title. :)

Stay sweet and safe, you guys! :">
